"What's this going to cost me?" is the very first question every homeowner asks us at their free estimate - and it's a fair one. Flooring pricing can feel like a moving target, so we put together honest, current 2026 numbers for the three flooring types we install: hardwood, luxury vinyl, and laminate.
2026 Installed Cost by Flooring Type
These ranges reflect a typical installation in a South Florida home - most of them on a concrete slab, which changes the math a little compared to homes up north with plywood subfloors.
Why Hardwood Costs More Here
Solid hardwood and engineered hardwood sit at the top of the range mainly because of material cost and, in South Florida specifically, because most homes need engineered hardwood rather than solid boards over a concrete slab. Engineered construction handles our humidity and slab foundations far better, and that stability comes at a slightly higher price point than a basic laminate.
Why LVP Is the Sweet Spot for Many Homes
Luxury vinyl plank lands right in the middle - and for a lot of Broward County families, it's the best value on the table. It's fully waterproof, handles our humidity without a second thought, and installs relatively quickly, which keeps labor costs reasonable. If you like the look of individual planks less than a smooth, seamless surface, ask us about sheet vinyl or vinyl floor tiles as alternatives.
Where Laminate Fits
Laminate flooring is the most affordable of the three, and it still gives you a convincing wood look for living rooms and bedrooms that don't see much moisture. It's not our pick for a laundry room or anywhere water could pool, but for the right space it stretches a flooring budget further than almost anything else.
What Moves Your Quote Up or Down
- Square footage and room shape - odd angles and lots of cutting add labor.
- Removal and haul-away of your existing flooring.
- Stairs - hand-fit, detailed work priced separately (see our hardwood stairs and laminate stairs options).
- Subfloor prep - leveling a concrete slab or fixing squeaks takes extra time.
- Plank width and product grade - wider planks and thicker wear layers cost more per square foot.
