Caring for Luxury Vinyl Plank
Luxury vinyl plank is the lowest-maintenance of the three - its waterproof core means you can damp-mop or even wet-mop without worry. Sweep or vacuum regularly to prevent grit from dulling the surface over time, and avoid abrasive cleaning pads that can scratch the wear layer. It's genuinely one of the easiest floors to keep looking new in a humid climate.
Caring for Laminate
Laminate flooring needs a slightly gentler touch - sweep or vacuum often, and only lightly damp-mop, since standing water at the seams is what causes swelling over time. Wipe up any spill immediately rather than letting it sit, and be extra mindful in rooms near sliding doors or windows that may let in rain during a storm.

One thing that catches South Florida homeowners off guard: condensation dripping from an AC vent, window unit, or even a cold glass left on the floor can pool just like a spill.
