Preparing Your Coral Springs Home for a Flooring Installation: A Homeowner's Checklist

Once your install date is scheduled, a little preparation on your end goes a long way toward keeping installation day fast, smooth, and stress-free. Here's what we recommend, room by room.

About a Week Before

• Order any additional materials or confirm your product selections with us so nothing is on backorder.
• Arrange care for pets during install days - the noise and open doors can stress them out.
• Plan an alternate route through the house if we're working on a main hallway or entry.

A Few Days Before

• Clear the rooms of small furniture, rugs, and personal items - our crew handles large furniture, but clearing surfaces (bookshelves, dressers) helps things move faster.
• Take down wall art, mirrors, or curtains in rooms getting baseboard or trim work, since vibration during installation can occasionally jostle nearby walls.
• Remove floor vent covers if you know where they are - our crew can also handle this.
• Note any door that drags on the floor now - new flooring height can occasionally require a slight door trim, and it helps to flag it upfront.

The Morning Of

Make sure there's clear access to the work areas and a parking spot nearby for our vehicle - between materials and tools, we typically need to load in and out a few times. If you have pets, it's best to keep them in a closed room or, ideally, out of the house entirely for the day.

How Long Does It Typically Take?

Timelines vary with square footage and whether stairs or trim are included, but a single room usually wraps up in a day, while a full-home project can run several days. We'll give you a realistic timeline as part of your written quote during the estimate, so you can plan around it - and we'll keep you updated if anything changes once we get into the work.

What We Handle

You don't need to worry about removing your old flooring, prepping the subfloor, or cleanup - that's all part of our process, whether you're installing hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, or laminate. We'll also walk the finished space with you before we leave to make sure everything looks right.

After Installation

• Most floors are ready to walk on immediately, though we'll let you know if yours needs a short settling period.
• Hold off on placing heavy furniture back for the first 24 hours if we advise it, to let everything settle properly.
• Use felt pads under furniture legs to protect your new floor long-term.
• Ask us about care and cleaning products specific to your new flooring type.
