Laminate flooring, done right in South Florida

Modern laminate isn't the plasticky click-floor people remember from years ago. Today's laminate uses high-resolution wear layers and embossed textures that read as real hardwood from across the room - at a fraction of the cost. D'Landra Wooden Floors installs laminate throughout Coral Springs and greater South Florida for homeowners who want a wood look on a tighter budget.

Laminate is a good fit for bedrooms, hallways, and family rooms that don't see standing water. For kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere moisture is a bigger concern, we'll usually point you toward luxury vinyl plank instead, and we'll tell you honestly which makes more sense for the room you're working on.

AC ratings - the spec that actually matters

The AC (Abrasion Class) rating tells you how the wear layer holds up over time. We don't install anything below AC4 in the homes we work on.

  • AC3 - light residential only; we generally steer clients toward AC4 instead
  • AC4 - our default recommendation for most South Florida homes
  • AC5 - heavier-duty, a good fit for busy hallways and entries
  • Water-resistant cores - worth discussing for rooms near a kitchen or bathroom

How we install laminate that doesn't squeak or peak

Laminate is a floating floor, so if the subfloor isn't flat and the expon gaps aren't right, it telegraphs every flaw. We level the subfloor before install, use the underlayment the manufacturer specifies, and leave the proper perimeter gap concealed by baseboard or quarter-round - and we handle new baseboard and trim work as part of the same visit if you'd like it.

Every laminate install includes acclimation time, staggered end joints for strength, and clean, color-matched transitions to adjacent rooms. If your project also includes a staircase, ask us about matching laminate stairs on the same schedule.

Laminate Flooring - frequently asked questions

No - laminate has a wood-fiber core and a printed wear layer, while LVP has a waterproof plastic core. Laminate is harder underfoot but more sensitive to standing water, which matters in a South Florida home.

Standard laminate isn't our first recommendation near sinks or dishwashers - we'll usually suggest a water-resistant laminate or steer you toward LVP for those rooms instead.

AC4 laminate typically holds up for 15-20 years in normal residential use. We focus on installation rather than refinishing, so we'll be upfront that a worn wear layer eventually means replacement rather than a refinish.

Yes - every quote includes demo and disposal of the existing floor. We'll walk your subfloor with you and flag anything that needs extra prep before we schedule the install.
